Quick question... How many players does ryle have to replace from the starting lineup? And how many of the players filling those positions have more than 30 innings of VARSITY not JV but varsity expierence?
-
Congrats to Henderson County... Tough to stop that big girl underneath... Congrats to the lady Cougars as well on a hard fought game and a great season
-
The Second Region is always one of the toughest regions in the state. I'll say Henderson by 18.
Ill have to say the 9th is a much tougher region.. Having Boone County NDA and Conner all ranked at one time
-
Ya but scoring 100 points doesn't neccessary mean anything if the second region is full of small no talent schools.
-
I saw Hendersons record... How tough is the 2nd region?
-
Congratulations Lady Cougars! You played "Team" ball all year and you've earned a trip to the Sweet Sixteen!!!
Does anyone know when ICN 6 will replay the game? Is there a web site that has their schedule?
Game will be on again tonight at 7pm
-
Any thoughts on this game?
-
Holmes in a BIG way over dixie. Mace gets dunked on bad tonight
-
Ill take COV CATH by 10 to much presence inside with maile and grimes..
-
Yes Stephanie Hodges will be attending NKU but as for Jordan she will not.
-
Great game to NDA as well they played well.. (except very rough and were pushing and fouling a little more than necessary) actually heard about the Tierney girl swinging at #53. But besides the point Congrats to NDA fought hard and came close.
-
I called it too.. everyone else just underestimated Conner's ability congrats to the lady Cougars.. Congrats Allison Long on joining a prestigious club (As a junior). Congrats to the cougars
-
It isn't one and done in the regular. Good teams step up when the stakes are high. They know how to raise their game up. History speaks for itself.....
(Now they may lose tonight and my theory stinks, but....)
True but Conner has proved themselves to be a great team.. Obviously they are this far ha... So I think Both bring their "A" game with the playoff atmosphere it will be closer than predicted
-
They lost to Conner:
1/3/2008 L 53-43
However, this game actually means something. NDA is to NKY, like MND is to SW Ohio....This is post-season and they play for real!
And they don't play for real in the regular season?
-
ND by 10 or better. A 35 point win over HC a few days ago speaks for itself. Though I'm not a ND fan the coach there has done a great job this year. Losing the players they lost last year and to be right back in it is impressive!
Wow very bold considering Conner Beat them by 10... This is the Region Finals I don't think there will be a blow out.. NDA had a very impressive game against Boone but Conner was impressive as well. If they both bring their "A" game it will certainly be close. I have Conner By 8... Decided by Free throws

Didn't have a dog in the fight but did attend the game. Here is just one scenario of how opinions can be wrong. I was seated on the floor opposite of the benches. A conner player dives for a loose ball right in the corner and in front of me. Official is standing about 8 feet from the play on the sideline, right where he needs to be. She hits the ball which begins to roll away, as it does she gets up on her knees to grab it as a HHS player comes diving in as well, Conner player hits the ball which rolls on the floor toward the sideline and as it is going out of bounds hits the back of the HHS player. Ref calls Conner ball which is the right call. HHS fans go nuts, horrible call, how can you miss that? Etc.... There is no way the could have seen it hit the back of the HHS player yet they are complaining about a "bad" call.
I agree...Every perspective is different not everyone can see the calls.. but everyone wants to be the ref... Not intended at HHS or CHS but thats for every school in every sport at any level
-
Malachicrunch- Your not the only one on this thread.. you did not complain about the refs... But others here have!
-
On any given day any team can be beat... The better team on that particular day will win... Yesterday Conner was the better team plain and simple... They made the plays and HHS didn't... Conner deserved to win and did win not because of the refs but because they were the better team!
-
Wow! As they say, "it's tough to beat the same team three times in the same season. Anyway, congrats to Conner. Good luck as you move on.
Lucky for Conner those first two games meant nothing, right?
-
Ha Ha Love it baby! Congrats to the Lady cougars!

Im going to take Conner vs. Boone in the finals. Conner looked sloppy in the district championship against Boone. I think they will step it up big time and beat highlands tonight.
Totally agree.. Even the coach for Highlands said that he feared Conner. The girls for Conner are looking to prove themselves and are out for blood and i expect them to win. It will be tough but who ever wins this game pretty much has the ticket to the Championship game
-
Highlands pitchers also include Oliver Head and i believe there 1B/ DH. Big kid, cant think of the name though. I agree with your statement of Highlands will need more than one pitcher to win region. If Highlands can save Towles for a big game in the region they stand a chance of getting to the finals. They will need someone to step up on the mound to get them a W against average teams.
Yes i completely agree winning against those above average teams in the regional tournament will be a tough test for the bluebirds. Bluebirds should be worried in the second round
-
Coach Hicks is a brilliant man and a top of the line coach
-
I'm just looking at the fact that since 20003 Conner made it out of the first round of regions just once.
This may be so but I think they were trying to say is that Conner is a tough team in the Playoffs and often play spoiler to some teams, for example tonights game. Once again Conner stepped up well and sent a very talented Boone team back home to watch the remander of the playoffs from the stands.

Ill tell you why it matters because how many of those JV players got to see a pitcher like Matt Nichols or Cody Elliot someone with an above average fastball.. and besides sitting the bench how many of those players for Ryle got to see what varsity playoff atmosphere is like? Its a totally different game.. Talent is talent maybe but if they aren't exposed to "better" talent then what is at the JV level then they will behind the 8 ball!
