Bad call or not you need to let this game go... Its a sign of a good player coach etc. if you let these things go and roll off your back... Tough break but thats the amazing thing about baseball is there is always tommorrow.
-
Wow this score is surprising that it was this close.
-
If Conner plays like they did last night it will be a long night for them. But if the Cougars come out and play hard and with intensity Conner should beat the Tigers. All depends if Conner can bounce back from their tough loss yesterday
-
If you have two cody elliotts back to back it would be easier to hit... The more looks you get at a pitcher the easier it will be to hit no matter if he thows 90 or 70
-
I am not saying velocity is important i am saying in Beechwoods case they have 2 or 3 pitchers the same.. so when the reliever comes in and he is identical to the one before him its almost like they didnt put in a new pitcher at all
-
Very true very true
-
Velocity is so overrated in the high school game. They will be fine throwing from the right side even if its at 65 to 70 if they can locate and keep the ball down and change speeds.
Yes true but when you bring in a reliever most of the time you need to throw something different make the batters get a different look and from the sound of it besides Elliott its soft throwing righty's
-
Hmmm so pitching could be considered a weak point of the Tigers
-
Beechwood is all righty's.
Hmmm.. all righty's could hurt you if they arent over powering and from the sounds of it Elliott is the only overpowering one
-
Haven't heard much of Stephen Hadden or Zac Larrimore... Lefty's? Righty's?
-
"Who pitches besides Elliott for Beechwood?"
I know the Smith kid has been doing a nice job for them so far.
Hmmm.... ok because i know Bankamper who pitched last year for beechwood was a solid number 2 pitcher... But he didn't come back
-
Who pitches besides Elliott for Beechwood?

Jason Johnson-Conner High School-Currently with L.A.

I'll pick Cov.Cath. to win.The rain has stopped at Hebron and the field at Conner is draining very well. Also the wind has picked up this should help alot.Conner's field is in no way as good as the two fields mentioned above.Coach Walt and Coach Bill work very hard on there fields. Should be very good games! Play Ball!

You would never call that play from behind the plate. If he was up the 3rd base line like you describe then he was where he was supposed to be. Trust me out there you see alot better than you do from behind a fence in the stands no matter how good of a seat you have. I don't know if the call was right or not but that is where he was supposed to be.
Since you sound like you really know about umpring why don't you sign up for the test and join the association and then the shortages will be at least one less. :thumb:
Yes one less spot to fill... but please don't show up to my games
-
But considering that Isler and Darner can hit those same shots, it would be nice to have atleast one runner on nearly everytime they are up.
True both talented players but not quite as power as Maile
-
Harrison beat Clark Co. tuesday 5-1. Giving up the only run in the bottom of the 7th inning. Brandon Martin pitched a 1 hitter. :thumb:
If they are as good as you say then IMO I would say Scott stands no chance in the 10th
-
They need him to drive in runs with the way the pitching of Cov cath is not over powering by any means. Solo shots and double in the gap are always nice but not as nice as hitting a bomb or a double in the gap with 2 or 3 runners on.
-
The last time Krumps put one of his best hitters in the leadoff spot it worked out pretty well. Sean Ryan had a great year and led the Colonels to the state championship. Ironically, he too was a catcher.
It didn't hurt to have a guy like Timmy Grogan hitting in the 3 hole, though.
From what i have seen this year of Cov Cath I don't think a State Championship is in their future this year. It is early though
-
Scott last night against Conner did not show any signs of being a top team.. I know nothing about Harrison Co. this year but if they are anything like the Harrison Co. teams from the past, Scott isn't in the same league as The Breds. How is Harrison Co. this year?
-
Maile batting leadoff kinda surprising... I don't think he will be driving in many runs in the 1 hole.
-
Fite pitched for Scott
-
How is Scott not up there? There only bad loss was to St. Henry the 1st game of the season and after that they've played as good as anybody.
Ya I agree but losing to St Henry is not a bad loss, it's a terrible loss!

That is indeed what I was told, and it is indeed a shame (and I told my friend that also) that parents who want to take care of things, are not allowed to. It is however strange, when across the county, another county high school seems to! I just don't understand! Sorry!!!
It still doesn't stop someone at least to announce the score at the end of each half inning.
O no I agree they need to announce or something its just ashame that the boys cant spend the money where they want... Maybe a parent should shout the score after each half inning :lol::lol:
