  1. BTW, Conner needs to get there scoreboard fixed. Charging fans four dollars to watch a game, and not having a working scoreboard much less a mike letting the fans know what is going on is sad indeed. I would also appreciate if the umpire, at a field that doesn't have a working scoreboard, would give out the count a little more often.

Now before I get yelled at by a Conner fan, I was told what was going on by one of your senior parents who I know and it is indeed a shame, but still someone at Conner needs to let the fans know what at least the score is during the game.

The only reason I bring this up, is the number of times I was asked the score or the count by both teams fans. I don't understand why you can't have a student, or a parent between innings come out and yell out the score. I know that there was a bit of confusion in the stands as to what the score at one point in the game was.

This is just a suggestion, but if you are going to be charging a premium price to see a game, then you have (at least in my mind) the responsibility to give those paying the four dollars the score between innings.

About this scoreboard issue... I believe Title nine plays a huge role in this issue about spending money when and where PUBLIC schools want... Cov Cath is a private school with private funding in which they can put toward athletics... Conner unfortunately doesn't have this luxury!

  2. I agree, that is the one chink in Cory's armour. He has always tried to pull the outside pitch, so we pitched him outside and he never hurt us. Usually grounded to second. If he learns to go with the pitch on the outside corner his average will go up as he will hit more balls up the middle or threw a hole on the left side.

Exactly what i was thinking... So if St Henry was to pitch him outside I don't think we would be having this debate... It could have been a mistake pitch but either way anything on the inner half is dangerous!

  3. OK......I walk Farris and pitch to Reid.

I agree to an extent... Farris can be pitched too... he is very vulnerable to outside pitches espesically off speed and that showed early in the game when he flew out twice... Now in a big situation i agree walk him to get to Reid because if you make a mistake pitch (not on the outside) Farris can make it hurt like he did.

  4. I was wrong 1 run was earned 2 were unearned. First batter hit a double down the 3rd base line followed by a single up the middle. Error on the throw over the first basemans head allowed the other two unearned runs. Jordan allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits in 6 complete inns.

There was more than 2 hits given up by Woodruff.

  5. hmmmm... from the stands nothing stood out but its always different at the plate... and the 3 runs were not unearned there was a double to start the inning and even if the other two were unearned the kid from conner hit a double off the right field wall to clear the bases

  6. I watched the game.. He was not over powering by any sense he struck out the first 4 batters but after that maybe one through his 6 innings.. when conner woke up they put the ball in play and got some tough breaks I would considering woodruff average maybe slightly above... MAYBE

  7. I think it all depends on how the pitching comes around from the juniors on the staff. I will tell you that there is alot of talent with those guys, they all can throw hard, but will they show that they are pitchers? You can only find this out when the games begin, so let's get it going and the best of luck to everyone.

I couldn't say it any better.. No better way to settle this debate then between the foul lines... We will see in time and i do wish the Ryle boys lots of luck along with all the other teams in 9th region

  8. I see your point but talent doesn't ALWAYS win out you still gotta execute.. I think they will be decent but not nearly as good as last year.. The group from last year was top notch and these JV players are not as good as the team that beat Cov. Cath. in the finals last year. If this group of sophomores and Juniors play that same Cov. Cath. team i think they will lose. They lose a lot and will not be AS good talent will get them far but not another championship or even to the finals for that matter

  9. You do see varsity type talent in the summer and on a more frequent basis, most of these players that make these teams are all the best players from their schools team. Go watch The World Series in Nashville or the Indiana Bulls Tournament at Purdue University campus and tell me that there is a big difference than playing in a varsity playoff game. Of course you named two top pitchers in NKY where anyone, when these two are on, will have a difficult time hitting them experienced or not. They are examples of the exceptions I spoke of.

I agree but only the best teams in Northern Kentucky (I listed above) go to these prestigious tournaments and i didn't see any of these JV kids playing for any of those teams
