It's a hard job at Boyd Co. I think Greenup and Boyd are two of the more tougher job in the area simply because of that desire to play. Too many boys are interested in other sports/things and they don't want to play for teams that just go 5-5 at best each and every year. It will be interesting to see what happens at Boyd over the next 5 games and coaching next season.

^^ You are correct Warrior, this one should be a classic between the two rivals. GCHS is now a MUCH improved football team. Raceland is going to have to make adjustments and hopefully get some kids back in the lineup and out of the M.A.SH. unit  .
As alway I hope that both teams remain injury free and...................................GO RAMBLERS!! :thumb: :thumb:
Should be a great game even though injuries are part of the game you must play with what you have and make no excuses. Raceland still has a tough schedule left.
-
I hope that both teams will stay injury free tonight.
Well said, same to all players tonight in all the games.

LCA by as much as they want

:thumb: You are correct. Now.... I don't think that Raceland "got lucky" to beat Fairview, imo they flat out beat them with a better football team. With an an all time record vs. Fairview of 27-8 I don't think that luck is an issue . From what all I gathered the game should not have been remotely close. I will say that I was not there but I have talked to some very knowedgable football people about the game.
And thats what you should say you are a Raceland fan.

Do any of you think whichever coach loses this game will lose his players, and possibly not win a game? Therefore, be in jeopardy for their job? Just wondering what the Boyd and Lawrence faithful think?
-
Thanks. Your right ratings are no good in this one. I hope Raceland plays well. At least under the new format, Raceland will probably see LCA again anyway. This Raceland team is good, and I would hate to see it have trouble due to injury, I hope all the players can recover quickly and the back ups take advantage of the playing time and get better and prove they deserve the added responsibility.
WOW what a statement, I am not a Fairview fan but it sounds like Raceland got lucky last week with Rairview having more yards, first downs, but lost the turnover battle. So, who knows if Raceland will play LCA. Fairview, or Nicholas isn't bad either. This district isn't a cakewalk. I could easily see a #3 seed beating a #2 and a #4 at least competing with the #1. Just my opinion.

You can always throw out the records in the Ashland/Russell game, I wouldn't take too much from that game because it's always a close game no matter if one team is more talented than the other.
-
Not so sure Raceland will be the best team. I still think Raceland and Fairview are pretty equal. Fairview had 5 turnovers Friday and only got beat by 8. Would love to see a rematch in the playoffs.
-
Nice win for the Rams, neither team played the best they could. Could see this matchup again first round in november.
-
If you took Ashland off those jersey's they would be lucky to keep this game from getting really ugly, I think Ashland is that bad. However, they will have some pride but in the end it's about the Jimmy's and the Joe's. Russell has them and Ashland does not.

Fairview will be missing some guys as well
-
I think this will be the best game in the area this week.
Raceland/Fairview has to be up there as well if this OUT of state opponent is the best in the area.
-
PBurg 42- 12, only because they will play JV at the end. Lawrence can't score on anyone they don't have the kids to run that tony franklin stuff.

Raceland is a good team, should be a great game this friday at Raceland with Fairview. Many great coaches in this game with Coach Cooksey, Coach Vanderhoof, Coach Maynard, and Coach Nate McPeek. I know Raceland will be ready after last week's letdown, and I know Fairview will be ready as they have been playing well. Should be a great crowd for a great rivalry. Best of luck to both teams.
-
Boyd looks good sometimes and bad the next. I think they really miss the coaches that left in the offseason, I can tell a difference in the linemen from the past few seasons to this season, I know they are young but they lost a great oline coach.
-
That could have possibly been a part of it, like I said this one was a textbook trap game - coming off the win vs. Ashand to an off week and with Fairview coming up next week.
I do know that regardless the bottom line that a pretty decent and improving East Carter came in to play. They whipped us and there should be no excuses from the Rams side of things.
Ashland is horrible, that win means nothing right now. Fairview is rolling right now
-
Okay thanks so much, I am happy raceland plays a good schedule
-
Fairview is a football program just like the rest of the schools, what in the world have the big boys done besides russell?? You are right about the scheduling part of it, raceland won't always have the players they have now, and they will wish they didn't schedule who they have scheduled. I disagree with you totally about the big boys statement. Fairview could easily compete with the district of Lawrence, Boyd,Greenup, and Rowan Co. Maybe not every single year but they could compete, last time I checked none of those teams are great nor good.
-
Maybe russell but that aren't as good as they have been
-
Nobody around here is really good
-
Thanks for the invite message, who knows if fairview could or not that's your opinion and you should respect all kids from all schools
-
Logical sorry its early this morning
-
OldRambler, you sure don't give fairview any credit. I know you are a raceland guy but they did beat an east carter team that beat boyd, and I think boyd is better than ashland which we will find out in a few weeks. This is Ashland's worse team in several years with several young players playing, carter is a great addition but can be stopped with the right scheme. Raceland deserves to be at #3 and possibly move up but to say ashland needs to be at number 4 isn't logically at this point in my opinion.

And I still say Boyd is obviously young and has some injuries but losing those coaches this past summer really hurt as well.
