Any updates over Christmas break for the job?

I would think it would have to be them or Preece.

Luke Salmons? Ed Dixon? Which one will it be?

There are more players to consider than Raceland players. I agree Denton should be on the list, but there has to be other players mentioned besides kids from Raceland. I know we are fans of particular schools but Craft led his team to a district championship and I think Greenup was the most improved team in the area at season's end.

Denton and Carver are great backs and should be on the list but they did miss several games due to injury maybe Mr. VanKirk took that into consideration. Raceland and LCA will be loaded next year and both should compete to see who goes to Louisville. Good luck to all the teams in their offseason programs.

I have been hearing it's between Luke Salmons or Ed Dixon. I don't have close sources or anything just heard that this week. Anyword from Louisa?

TJ Maynard-Raceland, does a great job with the Rams, previous head coach

Gary Morris- Russell, should be the next head coach whenever Coach McGlone retires

Tony Love- Ashland, great football coach and person

Nate McPeek- Fairview, young but experienced in the game of football saw a world of difference with the Eagles this season

I don't think this is a great job personally they will have a tough time finding a great quality coach in my opinion. Even though you could win a district championship pretty soon simply because the other teams are so evenly matched. Lots of teams would love to compete in a 4 team district that's pretty even as far as talent. I would say they will try to get a coach from outside the people that are already there, what do you guys think?

Russell fans do NOT want to lose Coach Morris. I hope he is not considering leaving for this vacancy.

Would be a great hire for LC he is a good man and good coach. However, I can't see him leaving Russell he would probably get the job whenever Coach McGlone decides to retire.

Whatever man I can state my opinion just like you, Raceland is the better team and good luck next week against a tough LCA team hope you all pull it out. I just wish people on here wouldn't downgrade people so much that's all. There is no need to say anything about basketball in a football thread anyhow. Good luck Rams the rest of the way.

Cooksey must have focused too much on Basketball Practice or must have been ready to play some Basketball games. You know that it has to affect Football Practice that he is practicing Basketball as well.

Why do you downgrad programs and people? In the grand scheme of things football is game, it's not a matter of life and death in the end there is only 1 champion in each class. You need to go find something to do instead of downgrading people and programs.

Why do bash everyone at Fairview about the former head coach situation. It is over and done with people need to move on. He is at Ashland having a good time and the Fairview kids have a winning season and going to the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. Be happy and watch some playoff football.

Everyone feels like Fairview had a disadvantage, but I disagree. They have as many kids coming out for Football and as many to choose from as Boyd does.

 

Plus everyone wanted to dwell on our past Coaches leaving, and going to Fairview, would kill us in this game, and obviously they forgot to watch some film or something. Coach Evans has got most of the guys back healthy and starting to make some of them believe in his system I guess.

 

Fairview football was on the Rise and Boyd's Program has been down for a while, so I think this was Fairview's best chance to beat Boyd. Will be exciting to see them continue to play though.

 

No disrespect to Fairview, some great friends there, and they deserve to have some good teams. Good luck to Fairview next week and in the Playoffs.

Coach's leaving doesn't have anything to do with the outcome of the ballgame you should know that geez. The coaches that left had better opportunities the way I understand it. It was a good game to watch if you take away the 1st quarter and all the mistakes it was a 7-6 ballgame. All the breaks which are part of the football game went to Boyd Co. 5 Turnovers for Fairview, 1 for Boyd that's the story of the ballgame. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

Sounds like Boyd is really playing well, they should keep it rolling this week against a much smaller school and less players.

ParisPride you are absolutley correct, Nicholas is a whole lot better than the years past but can you honestly say they have a legitimate shot at beating a full strength Raceland team??? To be honest with you it will be a good game but i don't see anyone stoping Bret Denton the wonderbeast. This whole game is on the shoulders of whoever plays quarterback for Nicholas, if he steps it up it will be close but if he has a sub par game you people better get used to hearing our fire engines!!!! GO RAMS!!

Wonderbeast give me a break. He is a decent running back nothing like Thomas at Ashland or even Abrams at Russell. He got yards against a terrible Paintsville team. He is a good high school player that must be stopped I agree but he doesn't strike fear like other RB's.

Fairview could not play with Ashland this season, Thomas has been a huge threat to many teams, and Fairview would just be one other team who could not stop the big plays.

Ashland is terrible.

I remember Fairview beating Raceland a couple of years they had a good team. Fairview, I am sure will get another chance with every body back and 100% Raceland team. As to Ashland, No I don't think They could beat Ashland. That is my opinion only, and that is what this forum is all about. Also Raceland owns Fairview year end and year out. Fact.

No offense but you are a Raceland fan so you wouldn't give Fairview a chance against anybody. That's just how it is, Fairview fans could say the same about Raceland in some year's it just so happens Raceland has some decent talent right now that won't always be the case there, just like Ashland won't always be bad like they are this season.

Yes, and that's probably the reason that the Independent has those teams ranked below Ashland despite having a better record. They probably believe that Ashland would beat those teams.

Probably correct but you can't state that because they haven't played each other, that's fine if they want to put Ashland there but the fact is it looks bad. Ashland will be lucky to make the playoffs anyhow.
