  1. The AD has been sour on basketball every since his son got passed by his peers in the sport. His kid had a nice track career but Utter and him never saw eye to eye after.
  2. Bold take...wonder why he didn't work with any of the previous staffs, Utter or Grammer, if he had the goal of running the program one day.
  3. He expressed interest in Conner but ultimately wasn't a good fit for him. The Cooper administration and Sully just butt heads on philosophies. I think he really was waiting them out hoping they'd leave before driving him away. Unfortunately for the Cooper kids, I think that's where he is now.
  4. I've said from the beginning that this would be Holthaus job and still believe that is how it will end. Maybe I'm wrong.
  5. Hearing that there may be an issue with Yamil going to Newport and could very well wind up back at Cooper. In addition to Conner being in rebuilding mode so the job wasn't as appealing as Sully thought.
  6. I believe the feeling around Cooper is that Sullivan is leaving. He is ready for a new challenge with a more supportive administration.
  7. I don’t know Sam but he isn’t exactly Red Auerbach. He isn’t in a position in his career to say “ no not at this time.” If he ever wants it, now is when he can get it.
  8. Big loss? 0 district/region championships and only 3 appearances in the region in 8 years. I know it isn't all about that in terms of success but I don't think it's a big loss.
  9. I think that the right person would make a big difference. There are 2 players on Newport's roster that would've been at Holmes with the "right person". I anticipate there being a lot more than that who could help Holmes.
  10. First call better be to Ricardo now that he has the experience they can’t pass on him.
  11. I've known coach H for a long time and he loves a challenge and while he has been very successful on the girls side he interviewed for boys' jobs just didn't land one. Now that he has the experience of being a head coach, he would be the #1 option. Plus he already teaches in the district so it would be an easy transfer.
  12. I’m calling it right now. Holthaus leaves Cooper girls to take over Conner. No inside info just a hunch.
