Sorry dude, that was Lexington Catholics JV team. It was prom night at Lexington Catholic, the varsity players went home after the Beechwood game. -
Although Bryan Station does have two very good pitchers, they still do not have the ability to score. Tates Creek will be tough because of some very young talent. Lafayette will also be very young and lost their two top pitchers. My pick would have to go to Lexington Catholic, they also return two very good pitchers and are very solid with experience and talent at all the other positions.

Wow, but since we are talking about it, a few more examples. Tates Creek is Creek, West Jessimine is West, East Jessimine is East. I am sure there are many more that have been shortened, but, who should really care anyway. I think its more that when someone says Catholic the thought process goes right away to Lexington Catholic no matter where you are located in Kentucky. Again, who cares.

I agree, what a game. Too bad they played early in the tournament, this would have been a great final game. For me it was interesting to see the matchup of coaches. Coach Miller at PRP who has been around forever and a young first year coach with Lexington Catholic coach Brooks. Miller made changes and called his game and coach Brooks matched in move for move. Congrates to coach Miller and coach Brooks for a job well done. PRP is of couse in solid hands and Catholic has a very bright future with their coach.

Lexington Catholic 3 Tates Creek 1

Attended the game, I thought Catholic was out of pitching since they used Martin and Authur in wins over Henry Clay and #3 Madison Central. That was not the case as Haynes and Carroll were very impressive. Great game, defense for both teams was excellent. Catholic is going to be hard for anyone to handle in state. They are very well coached and play with alot of emotion. -
From what i understand, Lex Cath and Holy Cross discussed playing in Lexington. Catholic was trying to put together an early season tournament. I believe they never got enough teams to enter. Lexington Catholic then decided to travel to the Warrior classic in Murfreesboro. I am sure both teams wanted to play, it just didn't work out that way. I am sure Holy Cross plays a good schedule and Lexington Catholic always seems to play one of or the toughest schedule each and every year and this year was no different.

The five seed will go to Lexington Christian, the 2,3, and 4 seed is a mess. there are still a couple of district games to be played which may effect the seeding. -
Lexington Catholic defeated Lafayette 1-0 in 10 innings late on Tuesday night. Great game by two really good teams. No errors and a really well pitched game. Catholic used three pitchers and Lafayette used two. Martin and Authur for Catholic looked great and Schaffner from Lafayette also threw a great game. Both teams threatened often but solid defense and pitching allowed the game to go the extra innings. Its going to be a war in the 43rd this year.

Lexington Catholic 9 Dunbar 2

Dunbar was a nice team. They made some nice defensive plays. Without those they could have been run-ruled. Martin was on last night at least for the first six innings and then had a little control issue. I believe this was Dunbar's first loss by a Kentucky team. As i understand the pitcher that got hurt will be back at some point. I don't think he was one of their top four or so pitchers. They could throw Haynes or Arther, but i would guess Arther. -
Lexington Catholic was impressive with a 9-2 win over Dunbar. Taylor Martin threw very well, had a no-hitter until the 6th. Catholic had 10 hits and threatened to score each inning. This game and Catholics game tonight with Lafayette will go along way in determining this district.

Attended Lex Cath game last night with Trinity. Both teams played well, no errors by either team. In the end lex caths talent overwhelmed Trinity. Catholic excels in every area. Very well coached. Really nice field also.
