* St. Xavier 70, Central 59, final: Tigers (23-8) advance to face the Trinity-Ballard winner in Monday’s 7 p.m. regional final. Nathan Smith scored 17 points and Alex Jones and Brock Kiesler both added 13 to lead the Tigers.

Postseason game plus archrivalry... anything can happen. Looking forward to it.

 

Central was undersized, to be sure, and it allowed the St. X bigs to have some pretty solid games. Brock Kiesler especially put together a nice game.

 

Don't know his name and I can't find a box score, but No. 5 for Central has a nice game. Anyone know what year he is?

 

Also, where can I find box scores on these games?

St. Xavier High School basketball coach Kevin Klein has given his team a brief history lesson over the past few weeks.

He reminded the Tigers that the school hadn’t won a district title since 2001 and hadn’t been to the Seventh Region Tournament in six years.

The Tigers ended both droughts, and now St. X is on a 10-game winning streak after beating Central 70-59 Thursday before a packed house in Knights Hall to move into the championship game of the Class Act Seventh Region Tournament for the first time since 1998.
