How do freshman officials get games?

Recommended Posts

Seem to be a bunch of new faces in the 9th. Some have promising futures and some not so much. Just what I have seen at freshman level. Would think it would make it a little sense to put a veteran with a 1st or 2nd year guy to learn proper mechanics and positioning if veterans are working freshman games in the 9th. I've seen 7 or 8 freshman games, and though I do not know for a fact, both men seem to be learning the ropes. Just an observation and I am sure this has been brought up before.

Just like the players.....You talk about, mechanics, positioning, and the future of some, curious as to how many years of officiating you have under your belt to be able to make these evaluations?

I am not trying to bash them. I just wonder I don't see some veteran officials helping out at the freshman level. Maybe its the level of basketball considering it is a small school which I follow. I have worked in their shoes, albeit at a grade school level. Trust me I am not a ref basher! Just some stuff you see are not right and I think it could be corrected by working with a veteran to get some feedback!
