Nice win for the lady dragons! We were actually down 4 points at the half, but the girls came out in the 2nd half playing better much better defense and rebounding. I think the two guards from Simon surprised them. Was impressed with their guards #11 and #23(not sure of their names), although not very tall they shoot very well.

I believe number 11 is Abby Owens, a sophomore. She is very, very quick. Not much size, but definitely makes up for it in heart and athleticism, and can get hot from outside. If I am not mistaken, number 23 is Hannah Stephenson, a senior, and yes, she can shoot, among other things. Simon, as usual, has got some great guards, especially in their sophomore class.

20 Kelsey Blau Guard Fr. 31 Kaitlyn Morrison Center Jr.

44 Alyssa Carr Forward Sr. 11 Abby Owings Guard So.

14 Torie Clark Forward So. 33 Haley Robinson Forward Fr.

24 Christina Cook Guard So. 10 Kelsey Schmiade Guard So.

30 Rachel Cox Forward So. 23 Hannah Stephenson Guard Sr.

25 Rachel Figgins Forward Fr. 45 Sarah Tomlin Forward So.

21 McKenzie Hester Guard So. 50 Kaitlyn Webb Center So.

15 Katie Jones Guard So.

Whitfield is the best all around player I've seen this year. SK with too many turnovers towards the end of the first half that carried to the second half. SO maybe was off a little bit the first half but SK kind of self inflicted.

#10 Schmiade is actually another freshman. For some reason, she is on roster and game announcements as a soph. SK has 4 Freshman, 8 Sophomores, 1 junior and 2 Seniors. Should be a fun team to watch for the next few years.

Same here. I don't think there is a better player in the 8th Region.

This is the finish on that drive. Cook is fast; top 4 finisher in state 400 AAA track meet last spring.

One of Whitfield's drives.

Agree to disagree.

Agree Mad, she is definitely the early season POY in 8th. Lots of action to come.

"Handsdown".

SO has played quality competition early, so whatever she has done has been against capable defenses, plus she has several teammates with whom she shares the ball generously. No doubt there are other fine players in the region, but none any more proven than - nor as consistently well tested - as Jasmine Whitfield. And with the passing of the early signing date, apparently the recruiters have agreed, as well.
