Cov Cath plays tomorrow. Could a win put Lasalle over the top or did they already price that in.

LaSalle is out. No chance they can get in. They finished 10th in the region. They are 2 spots behind making the playoffs.

 

A real shame. I was hopeful they could find a way to still make it and potentially have to play Colerain in round 1. Would have been fun. Below are the "final" pairings for the Cincinnati/Dayton region in Division 1:

 

#1 Middletown vs. #8 Centerville

#4 Moeller vs. #5 Sycamore

#2 Colerain vs. #7 Walnut Hills

#3 St. Xavier vs. #6 Mason

 

It is more than likely the top 4 seeds will all win. That sets up a double-header at the University of Cincinnati on Saturday Nov. 12 with the following matchups:

#1 Middletown vs. #4 Moeller

#2 Colerain vs. #3 St. Xavier

 

If you live in the Cincy area or can get there within an hour drive, I HIGHLY recommend you make it to these two games. It will be a double-header and will be some of the best games played all year.

Thanks for the info, Clyde. I was going to post the playoff schedule myself, but you beat me to it.

 

I can't find a lot that's compelling in the first round games this year, but as CF said, the projected (and very likely) second round matchups should be good games.

 

The Centerville-Middletown matchup could be more interesting than a typical 1-8 game. Elks must be playing better than they were early (they lost to Elder and everybody beat Elder), and Middletown seems to have limped home a bit. I thought they would pepper Princeton by a few more scores.

 

As for when the last time only two GCL schools made the playoffs, I'm not positive. Prior to the expansion to eight teams, it was virtually every year, if even two got in. Since then, I bet it's happened, and I bet someone will tell you when.
