Big game for Garrard County. The have to avoid a letdown coming off the huge win at Bourbon County. Western Hills has really began to improve lately and the way they held down Frankfort's speed is concerning for how they might be able to contain Garrard's speed and quickness.

 

But if Garrard can win they will lock up their first district title since 1993. That should be all the motivation needed for this week.

I watched Garrard County at Bourbon County this past friday and they are all business. I think the coaching staff has done a great job at preparing and letting their kids know what is at stake. I would bet that the words "District Title" will be brought up during practice a lot this week.

All business is a good way to describe the team. They aren't really high or low, but just methodical. When the season began I thought there might be more throwing it around the field, big time highlights. But I was wrong - they just line up and pound teams and then use the passing game to ice teams away. Wilson and Hayes have shown themselves solid between-the-tackles runners that can also score when they get into space.

 

Here's hoping for a good week of practice and a solid performance against an improving Western Hills team. Remember, a win means DISTRICT CHAMPS!
