Can't put the ball on the ground four times and expect to beat anybody. Turnovers changed the complexion of the game.

Totally agree, but a good team took advantage of the turnovers and won. Would like to have seen these two play a turnover free game and see what would have happened. congrats to the Tomcats. I'm sure Ironton will go on and have a great year.

Turnovers defintely made a big difference tonight. I thought the bigger difference maker was the way Ashland handled Ironton physically. There was some tremendous hitting going on and more than one Ironton player was seen laying on the ground play after play, especially in the second half. Ashland has one of the best O and D lines I have seen for a quite a while, (at Ashland). The thing that has been so encouraging so far is they have managed to stay relatively healthy while getting better every game. A much improved defense forced the turnovers for Ashland on this night. It's nice to have skill players but it's real nice to have good line play to go with them. The GW game was a great scheduling move, Ashland grew up a lot and they realized they have good potential for this year if they discipline themselves for the whole season. If we played GW again we'd win by more than one TD IMO

ballbrain...... A team (any team) looks real good when they have the speed, athletes at the skil positions. Makes those highlghts look real good.

I highlighted the parts when you mentioned outstanding line play. When a team wins the battle on the line of scrimmage they usually if not always win the game. Nice post and congrats to the Tomcat O and D line . Usually the only time a lineman gets menioned is when he gets whipped all night by the guy across from him.

So true, the hitting and blocking is getting contagious and everybody is looking for a good block. I actually saw Malik Massey get two blocks in the same play! Come in there sideways Malik!
