DADDY CAT Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Last night before the Lynn Camp/Madison Southern game @ Madison Southern I got to witness a strange event. Madison Southern has a really nice artificial turf field. As MS began to run out on the field one of the Eagle players ran out carrying something. I thought it was a baton or something. IT WAS A SLEDGE HAMMER! He held it over his head with one hand and preceeded to bring it down hard with two hands into the center of the Eagle logo. Rubber BBs flew into the air. I guess my question is: Is this something that really should be done to your artificial turf? Do they do this before every game? Does this damage a field worth hundreds of thousands of dollars over time? Last but not least, If we play there again can we bring a machette? I do not see how this is something that I would want done to my artificial turf. (I also did not get the jest of the hammer. Can someone enlighten me?)
ColonelMike Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Obviously, there's a story there somewhere...would love to know what it is...
DADDY CAT Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 Bringing the Hammer Down On Opponents? It was bizarre to say the least. We were not intimidated if that is what it was for. We were in awe that someone would treat such a nice field that way, though. We have to fight to just get ours taken care of, much less take construction tools to it......
