The Professor Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Owls have a new coach in Will Jones from Clay County. He played for Mike Jones at Clay County and for Alice Lloyd College. Jones will start out fresh out of college, but Owsley County has had success with coaches like that before. Most of the team returns from last year, and is composed of mainly freshmen and sophomores. From what I have heard they had a good summer in camps and are looking forward to the new season. There's no football in Owsley County, so basketball has everyone's attention long before the season begins.

The Professor Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 How do you see them finishing in thier district? They'll be much improved over last year, but they are a very young team. Winning the district may be a stretch this year, but anything is possible because the 56th has not been a very strong district for several years. There's probably not a big difference in the four teams from top to bottom.
Augger Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Estill County should be the favorite in the 56th. However as the professor stated the 56th is not a very powerful district this season.
