I know its early, but are there predictions for this years state track and field championships? Who in your opinion are the toughest teams in each class?

Class A - Bardstown. Won it two years running. Everybody back.

Bardstown should win, but it won't be a cakewalk. Fort Campbell (4th in Class AA last year) moves down in class, and they won't have Paducah-Tilghman knocking out several of their competitors at regionals.

Bardstown & Ft. Campbell will come down to the Distance Runners. Their sprint & field event results are dead even going by last years state meet. Neither is a X-Country Power, can either one get someone to produce points for them at state for a distance of 800m or more?

Looking at all that Bardstown lost from last year and how young Ft Campbell was ..plus the people that Ft Campbell didnt get out of the really strong AA Region they were in. I think they have the edge. This should make for a very exciting Class A meet this year. Its a long time till June !

Ft. Campbell's Girls will make a bigger impact in Class A than the boys I believe. I have them scoring 186 points in Region 1 Class A by plugging them in last year's results and taking out the seniors. That is a fairly strong region with Murray, Mayfield, Fulton County, Russellville, Trigg, and Hancock within about 20 points of each other every year. With Ft. Knox dropping down also St. Henry and Bishop Brossart may have seen their last days at the top.

Don't count out very talented teams from Danville and Trigg Co. in class A boys. I agree Bardstown is the team to beat, but they did lose some talent. Their hurdler is gone and their relays don't appear to be as deep.

Never count out Danville, NCC, St.Henry, Trigg, or Bishop when considering the top returning teams in boys Class A. They are all solid and deep in many events. Just look at who returns from each team to know that.
