What happened to Coach Fries?

Let go last week - no official reason that I've heard, but un-official scoop deals with problems stemming from playing her 8th grade daughter last year on the varsity.

Does anyone have any word as to whom FC will hire - or at least a list of candidates? It appears that the very late timing of the "letting go" of Coach Fries will have a big impact on the process. It will be interesting to observe what transpires - and where her daughter ends up playing.

Someone on another board said her daughter was playing with Holy Cross in a summer scrimmage last week.

Everyone at the school is tight-lipped, for obvious reasons, but rumors are flying all over the place. From what I've heard, apparently, they only got 3 applicants and weren't impressed with any of them. The principal is asking anyone and everyone in the building to take the job and no one will take it. The principal is now backing off his "let-go" statement and has said that Coach Fries can re-apply. I've heard 3 schools regarding her daughter and Fern Creek is not one of them. Retro, I think you are right, this situation will be interesting if nothing else.

I would hope that she would not re-apply after the way they have treated her. There is much more here than they are saying.

They should hire an interim coach for a year, than hire a permanent for the next season.

Heard from a parent that they 5 or 6 qualified applicants and that interviews will start next week.

Must of heard from a different parent than you Derby, 6 applications, 5 are qualified, 4 are looking for a teaching position in the building. There is a teacher hiring freeze at the school because of low enrollment numbers. Looks like they may be limited in who they go after. Also heard they may wait until IRS smoke clears before making a decision. That's the word at Kroger. I'll go next door to WalMart and see if I can get a different scoop!
