Somerset defeats Casey county in the first round of the 47th district tournament. Ben Purcell (SR) pitched 5 solid innings striking out 5.

JP Henderlight (SR) picked up the save. The offence was led by seniors Taylor Sears and David VanHook with 2 hits apiece.

Somerset will face Pulaski Co. in the finals tonight at PC field. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm

Who did Casey pitch?

They pitched Justin Cox. A little lefty that really threw a nice game. He had command of his curve all day and kept the Somerset hitters off balance. The wind did play havoc with 2 or 3 hard hit balls that would have carried out or have been gappers by Somerset but Casey played a very nice game defensively.
