The Lady 'Stangs took care of business at Scott Wednesday afternoon beating the Lady Eagles 4-1 to finish the District Seeding race 4-0 and capture the Top Seed for the 37th District. The win means they will play the Calvary/Silver Grove winner to advance to the 10th Region. They are now 18-3 on the season and face top ranked Ryle today in Union.

Scott scored their lone, unearned run in the first on two misplays but then Miller retired 18 of the next 21 batters.

Alicia Miller tossed a two hitter while Erica Riedeman had two hits and drove home a run, Lindsay Griffith had two rbis and Gretchen Trumbo drove home the final run.

Brossart struck first on a Riedeman hit, stolen base and Griffith single to tie it 1-1. Then Molly Williams reached on an error advanced to second and scored on a Trumbo single to make it 2-1. In the seventh they added two insurance runs Trumbo, Nat Woeste walked, and Tricia Kramer was hit by a pitch to load them up. They scored ona Reideman hit and a Griffith sacrifice fly to make it 4-1.

In Junior Varsity, action the Lady Eagles' wings were clipped early with the Lady 'Stangs scoring 7 in the first, 6 in the second and three in the third for a 16-0 three inning win Mary Kay Reilly tossed her second straight shutout backed by solid defense while Mackenzie Bertram had 3 hits and scored three runs for the now 10-5 JV. Emily Greis, Sarah Futscher. Taylor Hardy, and Jaimie Reis all scored two runs. Futscher also had a triple

I heard Scott had one of their better players who is a senior dismissed from the team. If true sad to see someone who had a really good career not finish out her senior year.

You bring things on yourself. People make choices sometimes they are the wrong ones unfortunately

Absolutely - seen it twice this year - jobs, boyfriends, car and/or all of the above.

Two of Scott's best 3 players from 2010 are not there anymore Kraft and Wells. Maloney stands alone

Wow, I had no idea about Wells. I think she has been on the team since the 6th grade. I knew that Kraft was gone, I think for the last 2years at the least. Although,I have no dog in the fight, my daughter was coached, by Coach Brewer, years ago in basketball, and I have the utmost respect for her. So, I am sure whatever the reasoning behind the dismissal was valid. Coach Brewer truly cares about her players.
