Oldham County / Simon Kenton predictions

On Friday, the Oldham County Colonels host the Simon Kenton Pioneers in Buckner.

 

In the pre-season poll, the coaches voted these two teams as the region co-favorites, although they gave Oldham County a very slight edge.

 

Both teams have dealt with injuries this year; Oldham only recently re-acquired the services of senior center Dylan Simms, and star PG Kerry Smith has missed the last couple of games - he will be back against SK.

 

SK has also had several injuries to key players.

 

Who wins this battle, and how much will it tell us about the hierarchy in the region...?

Oldham with a week to prepare for the Neers but have dropped two in a row after a nice winning streak. Only one common opponent (Gallatin). What does the OC lineup look like?

Hard to tell what the two road losses mean...all-region PG Kerry Smith has missed the last three games, and most of the team was battling the stomach flu vs. Western Hills, a three point loss.

 

There's a good chance the Colonels will have their regular starting lineup back together tonight, which bodes well for Oldham, but the question is whether or not Oldham will be rusty. Sometimes a week to prepare isn't all it's cracked up to be, and playing games is better. We'll see.

 

Should be an excellent game between the two teams tabbed as co-favorites in the region in pre-season polls...
