Big crowd on hand for this cross town rival game.

I am not familiar with the Harlan County team. I know the county schoool opened in the fall of 2008 but how has this affected the Harlan city team? From the looks of this score pretty drastically. Will this school system go the route of Maysville where they closed the city school and all the kids went to the new county school?

Some people thought that might be what happened to Hazard when MC Napier and Dilce Combs consolidated to form Perry County Central, but it hasn't happened and probably never will. I'd say the same scenario will hold true for Harlan City.

 

On a side note,still don't understand why Perry and Letcher decided on adding Central to their new school's names....Harlan County did it right. There's already a zillion "Centrals" out there. Why add it when "County" does the job just fine.)
