The size of lineman goes up with the increase in class. More players and bigger kids in the larger classes. Some 1A schools may have 1 kid that is 6'3'' 250lbs. A lot of large schools have kids that size or bigger. I would say 5'10-6'2'' 220lbs-260lbs. Would be the standard I have seen. Some bigger and some smaller.

The "Standard" I would say is about 6'0, 220 lbs.

The "Ideal" is 6'5, 280 lbs.

 

 

Unless a kid is unusually fast, quick and agile for being 6'5, 289 lbs, he would definitely not be ideal in systems like Highlands (and Boyle too from what I've seen of their O line over the years) that place a lot more emphasis on those attributes than size. Other systems he may be ideal. But certainly not Highlands. Most really big high school O linemen are just way too slow and not agile enough to play O line for Highlands. Dale once told me the "perfect" Highlands O lineman is 6'0, 220 lbs and has the strength and technique to block big D linemen yet has the quickness and speed to maintain blocks on Lbers and trap block very well. Personally, I've seen way too many big high school O linemen (a few of which were highly ranked nationally like the James kid of Cincy X a couple of years ago) made to look real silly when forced to try and block smaller quicker D linemen and Lbers.
