Royals snap a six game losing streak.

 

Conner led 45-32 early in the 4th before Mason County rallied for the win. Royals will play winner of West Carter and West Jessamine tomorrow night.

Lady Royals rally to win opener

Junior forward Katelyn Smith scored 16 of her career-high 30 points in the fourth quarter to lead Mason County to a 56-55 come-from-behind victory against Conner in the opening round of the Commercial Bank Queen of the Bluegrass Tournament at East Carter on Monday evening.

Smith also pulled down 10 rebounds to post a double-double and junior forward Alicia Moore added 11 points and seven boards for the 4-6 Lady Royals, who snapped a six-game losing streak with the win.

Conner, which saw a 45-32 lead disappear in the second half, was led by senior guard Toria Fischer, who scored a game-high 33 points for the 1-7 Lady Cougars.

Mason County will play West Carter (5-3), which defeated West Jessamine 51-30, at 6:30 on Tuesday in the second round.
