Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic

 

Franklin Co. (4-1) -- Timmons 3, Hack 8, Mayes 12, Mello 14, Brown 4, White 2, Redmon 2, Gentry 2.

 

Boone Co. (5-2) -- Moss 17, Switzer 4, Shrout 9, Nash 13, Robertson 9.

 

Nice win for Boone considering they were without starting PG Jessica Jones and Moss was at less than 100% after a tough bout with a virus that caused her to miss the first game of the Classic. Boone had to overcome a Franklin County comeback that was fueled by an outstanding free throw performance where the Lady Flyers hit 23 of 26.

 

The Lady Rebels now face Mercy in the round of 8 at 5:00 PM tomorrow. They will still be without Jones but hopefully Moss will be closer to 100%.

Lady Flyers have the 1st loss of the year, but they made a huge comeback after being down 20. They got within 2 points with 40 seconds left. Coach Thacker pleased with the effort despite the loss to 6th ranked Boone Co.

I thought Rockcastle had an easier schedule than last year but after reading these posts I may have underestimated their schedule. Franklin Co., Clay Co., E-Town, Madison Central and the tourney down in Tennessee looks like some tough teams.
