This game was the opener of today's match-ups and compared to the Holmes vs. Aiken game this game was dull.

Dixie shot only 21.0% in the first half 5/23 but did come back to shoot 40.9% 18/44 for the game.

I wasn't very impressed with Dixie. They obviously are a very talented team but against a team with more discipline and more than one option offensively, they are going to struggle defensively.

 

Hatton had 11 at the half and finished with 13. Pike and Stansberry both stepped up big time in the second half though.

 

Colonels did a nice job breaking the Colerain press but also struggled at times that allowed Colerain to stay in the game.

 

Dixie is the favorite in the 9th, but if they play like they did today, they will have several losses in 9th region play by the end of the season.

This is the third game I have seen Dixie play this season. It wasn't a stellar performance for sure but they never had what I would say was a serious threat from Colerain.

 

I was told that number 44 for Colerain is going to Notre Dame for football.

Indeed. We talked about it several times throughout the game. 6'4 225 lb LB for the Cards football team.

 

Oddly enough, he and Pike were rarely matched up against one another.

Dixie won't be turning this game in for any highlight reels.....they struggled, no question.

 

Hopefully they can get back on track this week.
