Yep, about what I thought. I'd have it:

 

1) Bowling Green

2) Warren Central

3) Russellville

4) Glasgow

5) Metcalfe County

6) Franklin-Simpson

 

Beyond that it's hazy.

 

Right now Bowling Green has a lot more experience than Warren Central. The Dragons have a lot of talent, but you don't just write off the loss of seven seniors quickly. I think a lot for the Purples depends on how strong Disney rehabs his knee, but I like their supporting cast a lot. They've got Darius Clement, Tyson Halcomb, Mike Geegan, all seniors. Also have Scooter Hollis who is the quarterback for the football team, a junior. All of these guys saw time last year, much more than any of the supporting cast at Warren Central. It could change by the end of the year, but right now, spot on.

 

I think South Warren is too high to start the year. I think Russell County should be on the radar, even with the losses they sustained.

The ratings ended up how I thought they would, BG has more experience as Dragon Fire stated but its clearly a 2 team race in this region with the 3rd ranked team being 12-18 points below those two. A team I think alot of people are sleeping on and can make some noise is Monroe County, they return arguably the best point guard in the region in Keaton Rich and have the twins Cody and Kaleb Sheffield who have started for 3 years now. I beleieve the 13th district is a 2 horse race as always between Franklin and Russellville with that district only having 1 new head coach in Todd County with Calvin Head taking over, the 14th is a 2 horse race between Central and BG with the new high school South Warren being added with Coach Derrick Clubb, the 15th however is interesting because Monroe and Allen made the region tournament last year with Allen County winning the district. This year Allen, Monroe, or Glasgow could win it and most wouldnt be suprised if Barren slips in like 2 years ago to the region tournament, this district as well has all head coaches intact. The 16th district is interesting as well with Metcalfe fielding the best team they have since 2001 which coincidently was there last district title, Cumberland, Clinton, and Russell were all hit hard by graduation losses but return 3 solid head coaches and only losing Cumberland Counties coach to Bowling Green High School.

I can't remember 2007/08, but this may be the first year since 2002 that Warren Central wasn't ranked #1 in the preseason. I can't remember if they were foolish enough to do it in 07/08. Certainly, it is no more than the second time.
