Is Corbin really that good or is GRC really that bad?

Featured Replies

I don't understand the Corbin 21 to 7 win over GRC. Corbin lost to a 1A team last week (a good one) and GRC has been a respectable 6A team this year.

Corbin is a good football team but I think that GRC is really strugling.

Corbin always has a good football team. GRC started out the season 3-0. We were holding our opponets under 20 points a a game and putting up 40+ points and doing better than I expected. The last 3 games we have been held to 15 and under points a game. We lost alot of our line to graduation last year, but return some key skilled players. Pokey Harris has been a great suprise for GRC this year. With the loss of Mykal Barns, you never know how this will affect a team.

Corbin plays a lot of young players, four sophomores and a freshman started on offense last night and 4 sophomores on defense. They are coming around and playing more consistently, especially offensively, with the defense playing pretty well for the most part with a couple of bad stretches in both of their losses. Corbin plays good, sound fundamental football and have played very well on special teams.

GRC just could not get into any kind of flow offensively and missed out on a couple of scores inside the 10 due to maybe some questionable play calls or possibly bad reads by the QB, although Corbin's defense had something to do with it. The main difference in the game though to me was special teams play.
