Harrrison County 2010/2011

What does Harrison County need to do to improve in 2010/2011? What do they need to keep doing to be sucessful? Remember, please be constructive.

Harrison will be young and inexperienced for the most part this year. They return two starters from last years team in senior Eric Sanders and junior Caleb Ford.

The Breds will indeed be young. A large number of sophomores will be seing varsity action, along with one frosh. The Breds must get physically stronger, become more consistent with their shooting, and be able to handle pressure defense by older, stronger opponents. Height is much improved, but quickness and ball handling are a queston mark. The young core loves the game, and the future is bright. Small steps this year, with larger steps coming over the next two years. Can win the district, if the group continues to improve and things fall right.

I watched this young core group play several times at Mid America in the off season. They are a scrappy bunch that will make some noise over the next couple of years. They may struggle some this year though.

Defense will be the determining factor and if they commit to it they could be a legit team over the next couple of years! They love to play and have great chemistry so far! Unselfish and don't care who scores! If they win 16-20 games this year, the next couple of years could be special!!

Rumor has it that Harrison County will be losing two valuable players due to wanting to concentrate on baseball.

I'm not sure how valuable those two baseball players would be? They've not picked up a basketball since last Basketball season and have probably been passed up... Not sure how much they would play anyway. Harrison has a core of players that love basketball which they've not had since the mid to late 90's. Just may not have the depth they could've had.

The starting point guard and 6th man from last years team aren't valuable? Maybe they haven't picked up a basketball season since February because they were too busy winning a state championship?

Everyone is valuable at a school like Harrison Co. because of the size of the school. When the dust settles 5,10,15, 30 years down the road at class reunions you'll all be Thorobreds and you're only in H.S. for four years. Might as well chase your dreams!
