Meade County fan gets gut check

Featured Replies

Tonight I got a gut check. I was reminded that the team that I love is not professional athletes, they do not get paid to play. There is alot more than what we see on Friday nights. these kids work thier butts off all winter, summer, and fall in the weight room and on the practice field. Why ?, because they love thier school, they want to make their parents proud, and for the love of the game. We (I) as a fan can get so tied up in what is going on on the field that I lose focus that these are just kids. We are quick to jump up and give high fives when we are playing good, but sadly we (I) am also quick to criticize when things aren't going our way. Unfortunately these are kids, our kids, that we are critcizing. We can say that this kid is better, this kid should be playing more when we don't have have clue of what the coach's see in a kid. I obviously have hurt someone with the "talk before I think" scenario. To think that I hurt a kid just breaks my heart. Also not only the kid gets hurt ,but the parents who know these kids better than anyone get hurt also. To #14, I am truly sorry for any and everything that I may have wrote or said in the past. As adults, we act like kids sometimes without thinking of someones feelings. And to his parents, I hope that you can forgive me for my adolescent behavior.

Please Prepsters, the next time you boo or have something negative to say, remember it may hurt the person next to you.

Classy post. It was a great game tonight.

Great post Jeb. All good points to remember.
