All "A" Tournamnet

Any word if there are any games being played this morning? Is rain preventing getting it in?

DeSales beat Bishop Brossart 6-0.

 

Whitefield Academy beat Ballard Memorial 5-4.

 

Conditions are far less than ideal for a state tournament, given the wind and rain and the issues they cause on the field, but it's play everything today or the tournament is cancelled.

Russellville beat Middlesboro 1-0 in eight innings.

 

Lexington Christian and Pikeville are tied 0-0 after seven.

Lexington Christian defeated Pikeville 8-0 in 8.

 

Games called due to field conditions/rain during the semis. DeSales was leading Russellville 8-3 in the 4th. Whitefield/LCA were tied 4-4 after 3.

The tournament won't be resumed because postseason play starts on Monday.

There really isn't anything that can be done about it ... the two weekends selected for the tournament were wet, wet, wet.

For those who think the All A is a good reason for there not to be class system for baseball, this probably hurts. I think this will be used by those that want a class system for baseball. Saying it needs to be played at end of the year were it is a priority and it will get played no matter what they weather does.

Tournament will be completed at Lexington Christian on Wednesday. Russellville will not attend, so Desales advances to the final. Whitefield and Lexington Christian will resume in the top of the 4th inning. Winner will play Desales immediately after.
