Game played on Saturday at Ryle. Raiders were down 5-4 after 4 1/2 innings, but scored 4 times in bottom of 5th and once in 6th to pull out the win. Big, timely RBI single by Ryan Donovan during the 4-run rally. And, as usual, a big day for Hoskins, who gets two hits, including #5 HR of season, and 3 RBI. New Cath hurt themselves badly with 5 errors in the infield. Winning pitcher was Gorbandt, who throws 4 scoreless innings, and losing pitcher was Meyer.

The JV Ryle team beat New Cath on the same field 7-5 before the rains came. Timely hitting for Ryle and good pitching at the end.

Last time I looked late last week on NKY.com they were excellent. No doubt good enough to be in the POY discussion at this point in the season.

His average has come down a bit (high.300's), but it seems whenever there is a timely base hit that is needed, he has been the guy. Clearcut MVP of Ryle's team up to this point in the season IMO. I'm not convinced that the stats on nky.com are accurate, to be honest. I've seen some averages on there that look higher - and lower - than what I think are accurate, but I don't really track anyone on the team. When kids keep the books, there can be some "games" played on who gets on via error or who gets credit for a base hit. :sssh:
