Garrard County 2010

Featured Replies

What does Garrard County need to do to improve in 2010? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

The Golden Lions lost some awfully talented players including Ray, Hayes, Shoemaker, Naylor, etc. But they upside is that they bring back several kids, particularly some freshman to be sophomores and sophomores to be juniors that contributed more and more as the season wore on. The line could be improved with 4 freshman that will ready for increased PT in Worley, Garcia, Tuggle and Marsee. Replacing the big play ability of Ray and Hayes will be difficult, but I think they will be built more as a grind it out team this season. Defensively, I think they could take a step forward. The QB Abney, was a frosh and showed some very positive signs of developing thru the season.

I expect Garrard to finish at or above the .500 mark and by the end of the season, should be ready for the postseason.

The schedule is as follows:

Non district games - Anderson(Away), East Jessamine(Death Valley Bowl), West Jessamine(Away), Estill(Home), Lincoln(Home)

District games - Wayne(Away), Casey(Away), Jackson(Away), Taylor(Home), Somerset(Home)

I don't see anyway that that end up .500 for the season. I see them winning one, maybe two non district and district games.

I think 4 and 6 would be a great season, but I think 2 and 8 would be more realistic. This is just my opinion.

That schedule does not look that alarming yet 2-8 prediction. Has G.C. football fell off that much since Jerry Perry was there?

I think 3-2 district, 2-3 non district for a 5-5 record. That would be my VERY early prediction.
