Final from The Beach Bash in Destin Florida. Too many errors and baserunning mistakes by the Briar Jumpers. Lone Oak put up 5 in the 3rd inning. Somerset had 11 hits but had 4 baserunners thrown out or picked off. The Jumpers fall to 7-1 on the season.

Lone Oak has some pretty good young talent and may end up starting several freshmen and/or sophomores before the spring is over. How did the Purple Flash look?

They did well. They put the ball in play and mixed in enough hard hit balls with Somerset errors to have a big inning. They played good defense except for center field, he struggled with a high sky and gusting winds and first base--he had trouble with balls in the dirt. However, they have good fundamentals and they don't strike out--that is big in high school ball. On defense they took advantage of all of Somerset's baserunning mistakes. Good looking ballclub.
