Ryle 40 St. Henry 36

Way to play tough Lady Cru. Problem for Ryle was on the O end as it seemed like everyone was trying to do it themselves. Very little passing and lots of one on one with forced shots. Lady Cru played together as a team and Ryle did not. I would have yanked players for a couple possessions after selfish efforts and got in their grills. It's a team game and lack of team effort on offense and probably some "can't wait to play Boone mentality" nearly cost the game. Congrats to the Lady Raiders on advancing and hats off to St. Henry for playing with heart. Now, get back to your game and go beat Boone.

Don't want to minimize the St. Henry effort or game, I thought they played solid and did what they had to do to stay in the game. Ryle was way off their top game. It looked like we were headed for a repeat of last year until the 4th quarter.

Have to agree with paNDA. St. Henry played with heart, passion and left it totally on the floor and St. Henry had a great game plan, however after watching Ryle play (this was the third game I have seen them play this season), they were not the same team I saw in the other two.

Was Ryle looking ahead to playing Boone on Sunday? Was Ryle thinking of what they were going to be doing after the game? I :idunno: but Ryle better bring their "A" game on Sunday night

I was indeed very impressed with young Gamm! Tall, lean, quick, tough and smart, nice combination to have as a basketball player and a player she was Friday night at the BOKC.

Agreed. As I have said all year; you never know which Ryle team is going to show up. I attribute that to their youth but mostly to the coach. It is her job alone to prepare her team and demand maximum effert no matter the opponent.

Congrats to the Lady Cru for an excellent effort last night. I knew they would give Ryle fits. More than anything else, I think the Lady Cru's execution was the reason Ryle was not at the top of their game last night. Abby Janszen worked tirelessly guarding Crittendon. Unfortunately, her foul trouble made it necessary for her to be a little more passive in the 4th quarter and Crittendon took advantage. Taylor Gamm played an incredible game last night. I thought Lauren Spencer & Jessica Knaley gave very solid minutes in the post. I believe the last four games have been Taylor's best stretch as a Crusader. She single handedly kept the Lady Cru in the game in the first quarter until her teammates were able to get into the flow of the game. She made very smart decisions and maintained her poise throughout the entire game.

For Ryle, thank goodness they were hitting three's, because without those them, St. Henry probably wins going away. Crittendon's three with about 3 minutes to go was unbelievably clutch. Jump does a good job of getting off her shot with little separation from the defender. Not much creativity in their offense, but when you have talents like Crittendon and Jump, you can make that work.

Congrats to Coach Coburn and the Crusaders on another great season. Thanks to the seniors for their leadership. The future looks bright for St. Henry girls basketball.
