On the 2009-10 alignment PDF on the KHSAA site, it indicates that Greenwood (and Shelby Co., for that matter) will be leaving its current district for the 2010 season. It says that where they'll land will be determined before the end of the current school year.

 

Shelby County and the new school, Martha Layne Collins is already a done deal with their new classification and district.

 

They will both be 4A for the 2010 season; in a district with Bullitt East, North Bullitt, LaRue County and Marion County. Not sure what district that is though, three or four?

District 4, but it seems unlikely there will be six teams in that district. I foresee a lot of shuffling in districts 1-4 to account for the new schools moving into 4A. The Shelby schools may end up in D3, which has four JCPS schools plus Breck Co., who is a likely candidate to shift west.

 

Another thing to keep in mind with all this is that there will be a new HS in Nelson Co. in a couple years, and I'd be willing to bet the new school and NCHS will end up in 4A as well. Plus, NCHS has always had a natural rivalry with both Bullitt East and Marion Co.
