Every high school basketball team in Kentucky gets a second shot at glory when district tournaments tip off on Monday.

That’s the perfect date for the start of a miracle run.

Monday is the 30th anniversary of the “Miracle on Ice,” when the United States’ hockey team stunned the Soviets on its way to the gold medal in the 1980 Winter Olympics.

The message is clear for all basketball underdogs out there: Dream big (Rupp Arena big).

Editing 3rd region

The 3rd Region is wide open, but I must say Owensboro Senior is a surprise pick to me.

I am going to edit the 3rd region choice. On the online version it has Owenboro. In the newspaper it has his 3rd region pick as Apollo. I assume he ment Apollo. I noticed he picked Apollo, as I too picked Apollo in the contest.

Mike is incorrect on the site of the boys' 5th Region tourney site. It is at Nelson Co. and not Green Co.
