Oldham County 51 Carroll County 44

Featured Replies

Oldham County improves to 9-14, thanks to forcing over 15 second half turnovers. The Colonels win for the 4th time in 5 games.

Carroll falls to 5-16, and loses for the 8th time in 10 games since 1/1/2010. But the Panthers continue to be competitive despite the "L" - of the 8 losses in 2010, 7 were by 9 points or less.

Oldham County was led by Blake Payne (5 of 7 from the floor, 2 of 2 at the line) with 12 points, but 9 of 10 Colonels who played scored.

Carroll County was led by Ethan Stewart, who had a career high 23 points.

Payne and Stewart were the only two players to reach double figures.

The game was highlighted by Oldham County junior reserve Dylan Henderson's 3/4 court buzzer-beating shot to close out the third period.

Oldham led, 15-10, at the end of the 1Q; Carroll rallied to lead 25-22 at the break. Oldham outscored Carroll, 16-8, in the third, taking the lead for good. The Colonels led, 38-33, at the end of three.

Both coaches threw a number of defenses at each other; Carroll alternated between a 1-2-2 zone that was very effective, a 3-2 zone, and a man-to-man. Oldham played their usual man-to-man, but also pressed, played a 2-3 zone, and surprised Carroll to start the second half by briefly playing a 1-3-1 zone that produced Carroll County turnovers on their first two second-half possessions.

Congrats to Ethan Stewart on his career high..Carroll just has been so close in so many games. Let's hope they can get a run going.

Interesting stat: Oldham has only had their starters all start in 9 games this season...they are 7-2 in those games.

This sounds familiar regarding consistency.

?????

If what you're saying is that they haven't had consistency because of the frequently missing starters, then you would be correct. The starters haven't all been in due to various injuries...

The same premise you put forth could be used with Manual this season and the last. Just saying that in regards to your statement over on the Manual/Jtown thread.
