Warren Central/Greenwood Predictions

Featured Replies

Game at Central on Friday.

I'm a little nervous about this one, not only because of Greenwood's incessant ability to play teams tough despite a depleted roster, but because now Warren Central will have a game against Christian County tonight in advance of this game tomorrow. The two factors together could spell trouble.

Dee Anderson has turned into an absolute beast for Greenwood. He just dropped a career high 35 points against Allen County-Scottsville on Tuesday. If you can stop him you will stop Greenwood, but not many teams have done that. He's averaging 22.2 points a game (around 40-50% higher than last year), and he gets to the foul line at will as well. Central needs to limit his damage, or at worst limit any help he gets.

It boils down to the supporting casts IMO. Greenwood has Dee, and very little else. If they can get some good production out of Embry and Wittuhn, they may be able to pull the upset. But even with possible fatigue, I think Central gets up for this one at home, and it's a big one as a loss will make them face Greenwood again in the district tournament in a week and a half. I like Fant to have an assertive game and for the cast around the dominant players to be the difference as there is really no comparison between the support of the Gators and the support of the Dragons. I'll take Central by 5 in the usual ugly Greenwood game.
