From everything I understand, Derrick Smith will be hired as the new head coach of the Raiders.

He is stepping into a tough situation with the graduation of both Roark and Watts, along with many linemen.

With that said, best of luck.

I believe he coached the middle school at one time, but I don't know for what period of time.

He did about 5 or 6 years ago. Has he been coaching somewhere else since then that I don't know about?

No, I do not believe so.

Good Luck. Been there a few times. How many kids are out.

Conj: to Coach Smith, good luck to the Raiders in the upcoming season.
