Trinity 30, Chaparral 21 (End of 2nd Quarter) - Trinity, ranked 21st in Kentucky, jumped out to an early 7-3 lead against Scottsdale, Arizona's Chaparral who were playing without junior Zeke Chapman. A pair of late quarter three-point field goals pushed the Shamrocks lead to 17-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Firebirds held Trinity scoreless for the first 2:30 of the second quarter cutting the lead to 17-12. With two minutes to go in the first half the Shamrocks had extended their lead to ten points. Chaparral could not get closer than eight points for the remainder of the half.
