I know that Jones signed a deal that gave him about $265,00 plus $25,000 each year in media / advertising and he would've gotten $40,000 had he stayed through 2010. I also know that Brian Kelly had a $1 million buyout and presume that he got much more money going to ND than BJ did to come to Cincy.

In response, I said that Jones doesn't have the massive contract that Kelly has (from ND.) You asked me if I knew anything about how different the contracts were at CMU, which had nothing to do with what I posted. I played along & posted what I knew about Jones' contract. He made just under $300,000 per year and had a clause that would've given him another bonus of $40,000 had he stayed through 2010. Obviously, he did not. The people who cover CMU have nothing to do with anything, so I'm not sure where you got that one. :idunno:

I don't know Jones well enough yet to make that claim, but the people that have spent the last 6 years covering both feel that way. Had nothing to do with a contract, because that's how Kelly was before he got to UC and then left for ND. Clear enough???
December 17, 200916 yr Welp, we were talking about different things. I am talking about how BK has his massive contract now, and had the massive ego while at UC. It was part of what made him so successful. But tell us anyway, how different were the contracts for BK & BJ at CMU?

Ultimately, he got what he wanted and that is a big contract. He did well along the way. All coaches have huge egos. They have to.
