Final

Wet and sloppy game with horrible field conditions. Hills unable to throw the ball, but able to stop East Jessamine's running attack. Another character win for Hills. Both teams showed heart and battled to the last position. Hills motto "Find a Way to Win" true again. Curry and J. Wright had big runs on TD drive, while Ken Holbrook and Arie Slone had big nights on defense. Not a pretty win for Hills, but after a 1-10 season two years ago is impressive turn around for Coach Miller and program.

Great game for Hill. D -Line stood fast, Justen Perry has great game on defense also.

Way to go Hills

Perry and Cody Hecker have both done a great job at defensive end this season for Hills. They do not get a huge number of tackles, but do a good job of taking up blockers for LBs to make tackles and by controlling line of scrimmage. Good team effort y Hills. East Jessamine also played very hard. They have two good backs in Hager and Smith.

It seems like there has been a Hager at E. Jess. forever.

East Jessamine has a good combination in the backfield. Hager is short and stocky, and runs well between the tackles. Smith is faster to the corner with good speed and moves. Although Hager runs between the tackles often, has good speed. Very limited passing threat for East. Hills did a good job most of the evening containing both backs.

Perry's number of tackles are third on the team.

Sorry, East Jessamine's RB is Thomas. I guess thinking ahead to Spencer Co with a Smith at RB and QB.

Even bigger defensive night for Hills than I thought. East Jessamine came into game averaging 330 yards rushing per game. Hills held them to 109 yards rushing. LBs led the way for Hills defense. Slone had 21 tackles (13 solo), J.Wright had 16 tackles, and Curry had 11 tackles.

Great TEAM effort by Hills and staff, field conditions were terrible. Run, pass, block or tackle this all has to be done as a team and all must be on the same page to make a great winning program. Hills must remain focused and work hard for the up coming weeks. Go Hills!!

Congrats on a tough win!

Western Hills is far from a 4, 5, or 6 person team. They play well together and it is a credit to the kids that a different player or unit has stepped up each week. Against Frankfort the TEs stepped up HUGE and scored both TDs, while last week the d-line controlled the game and spent the entire night in Grant County's backfield. This week the LBs had a great game as a unit. Giving credit to kids that have good individual games does not take away from the team concept. The entire defense held East Jessamine to 109 rushing yards, and I am sure any player at Hills will trade any individual stat for a win. Hills is 4-1 due to the hard work of this senior class and their willingness to buy into the staff's team concept. If Hills can continue to play as a team and have great individual efforts, then the sky is the limit in a competative 3A this season.

This team is far from 4 or 5 players, but some are blinded from this. This team is one of the best that Hills has had in years, and it is from Freshman to Seniors.
