George Rogers Clark 13 Lafayette 10

Featured Replies

What a ball game. Lafayette scored on their first possession to make the score 7-0. They then score a field goal and GRC is down by 10. GRC comes back before the half and kicks a field goal and score is Lafayette 10 GRC 3.

In the 3rd GRC gets another score, extra point good. Tied score. GRC has the ball in the red zone but has to settle for another field goal in the 4th. GRC 13 Lafayette 10. Lafayette then makes a pass to score and GRC's Skinner intercepts the ball and runs the ball in the end zone....but th ball is called back for a block in the back. Lafayette tries a 55 field goal with 7 seconds to go in the game and it is no good. GRC takes a knee with 2 seconds to go in the game.

Lafayette was favored to win this game.....huge win for the CARDS.:ylsuper:

The Cardinals (2-2) scored 13 unanswered points, had an interception and fumble recovery in the second half and held off a late desperation drive by the Generals in the closing seconds to secure the win. Lafayette missed a 55-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining. “Our defense did an outstanding job to hold them to 10 points,” Clark coach Paul Columbia said afterward. “We just did a super job throughout the game. They swarmed to the ball and did a nice job tackling.”

The Cards stopped Generals’ running back Eric Shaw, one of the top rushers in the state. Shaw finished with 84 yards rushing and 145 all-purpose yards, but managed just 29 yards rushing in the second half.
