September 18, 200917 yr Yep, Cable news was in it's infancy. Can you imagine that it was spit compared to what it is now? There was CNN and it didn't reach many people. Newspapers? Do you really think they got people fired up? Radio? Same as cable news, there just wasn't much out there. I believe Rush went national around 1990. Not sure who else was out there but I remember it being mainly local radio programming. It was a whole different media world. It was a whole different media world. However the Print media very much did get people fired up. Afterall, Nixon and Watergate pretty much brought out the worst of people and politicians towards Tricky Dick and all we had was 3 TV networks and the Washington Post. :thumb: Truth be told people got fired up because people saw the news at some point in the morning or evening because there were NO other viewing options during that time slot.
