Monroe County 21 Bowling Green 6 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Monroe is showing that they have a little depth in the ranks with a solid win over a real good BowlingGreeen freshman team tonight. Monroe's freshman squad is without a big player that actually starts on the varsity, Chad Wilson, starts at tight end as a true freshman. The backfield led by Taylor Witty at halfback, had a really good night running all over a good solid defense. Trevor High at Qb and John-Allen Yokley really showed that Monroe isn't just having a couple good seasons but starting to build a rock sloid program from little league up. Coach Petett is really involved with all stages of Monroe county's programs. This freshman class has huge numbers and athletes as well as two classes below them. IMO Monroe is really showing that the pride and fan base as well as the desire to build a lasting impression is there!!!

Way to go young Falcons!!:notworthy:

^Not bad... I believe there are 28 freshman out for football this year correct? With numbers like that I see a bright future for Monroe County football... The large number of players (76 on this years team) IMO is testament to Coach John Petett and the type program he runs that he is able to retain a large number of players from freshman-senior, one thing he‘s done is surround himself with the best assistants available, he‘s also been very involved with the little league program like tsyoung7 said…

I remember several years ago when John took the head coaching job after Myers left that I was blasted on here for thinking/saying that in the long run Monroe Co. Football was in better shape with Coach Petett at the Helm, I think my point is being made now and will continue to be made in the future, not knocking Coach Myers because he is a fine coach and Russellville is a good fit for him, but I know the coach we have now is Monroe County thru and thru and it wouldn't matter if Trinity came calling he would rather coach the Falcons and bring a title to this community...

Anytime Bowling Green loses in football, whether it is Freshman, JV or Varsity I am always impressed with the team that beat them. I also keep an eye out in the future for that team.

Congrats to Monroe County and good luck in the future.

Congratulations to the young falcons. Looks like these boys have a bright future ahead of them. Keep up the good work!
