Hopkinsville's RHP Justin Hageman signed with WKU on Friday. He said his main attraction to Western was the coaching staff told him he could pitch, play defense and bat for them. He batted .429 in 2009 with 12 HRs and 33 RBIs. He did this despite a left shoulder injury he suffered in a fall at home. He had surgery and says he is fully healed. His junior season he was 5-3 on the mound with a 1.60 ERA. His sophomore year he was 8-0 with a .64 ERA. When he is on, he has some nasty stuff. As evidenced by his stats, he is also an excellent hitter. Justin is just an excellent all-around baseball player.

Riddle will most likely have his UK role in limbo until he gets there. He's got the bat and the savvy as a fielder to be an SEC type position player. All he needs is to gain strength. From the way the UK staff has been recruiting lately, JT's pitching is probably a little on the short side for the Wildcats purely from a sustained velocity and polish standpoint. That being said, he's still not even close to reaching his potential on the mound or as a position player/hitter. He could wind up being successful at either spot - or who knows, maybe even both.

What about Tyler Arthur at Boyd County. He was in the sophmore showcase last year and was invited to a Louisville Camp this fall.
