July 3, 200917 yr If anyone is trying to compare Eddy Curry from the Knicks to Zach Randolph I just don't see it. I understand Curry was injured and only played in 3 games last year, but they've played the same amount of time in the league. Curry Career: 13.4 pts, 5.4 rbs, .8 blks, 2.3 turnovers, .6 assists per game Randolph Career: 16.7 pts, 8.3 rbs, .3 blks, 2.2 turnovers, 1.7 assists per game The second player has a pretty decent lead in all stats but blocks per game.
July 3, 200917 yr Look at the bolded part. Same player before the injury that Randolph was. Pau Gasol, Duncan, Stoudemire, David West, Lamarcus Aldridge, Dirk Nowitzki, Boozer, Milsap, Al Jefferson, Lamar Odom for sure. I woud take old Kenyon Martin over him too, but you could debate that. That's only out of the 15 teams in the West. Duncan and Jefferson are listed as centers on espn, both also play great PF's. Not that it makes much of a difference just my two cents. :thumb:
July 3, 200917 yr Randolph gives the Grizz 3 guys capable of averaging at least 20 along with Mayo and Gay. Thabeet improves their post defense and rebounding. I think that Young could be a kid who has the ability to provide depth, I liked the fact that he was still there in the 2nd for them. I still believe that their PG play from Conley will be the key for them to sniff the playoffs. Gasol is solid and can assume his role more comfortably with the addition of Randolph and Thabeet. Mayo and Gasol should step it up in their sophomore seasons. I think the Grizz have upgraded.
July 3, 200917 yr I agree wholeheartedly that on paper Randolph makes them a better team. That being said this is a young team without an identity and without a leader. If Randolph assumes that position the team will sink like the Titanic. He is a selfish head case that will destroy a young team if given the oportunity. Now put him with some established talent around him, and some veteran leadership it may be a different story, but that isn't the case with the Grizzlies.
