Christian County (so far) is the only team with multiple votes. They have an EXCELLENT shot at a state title and have to be considered one of the favorites. The potential 2nd round matchup between Mercy and Christian County could be a dandy!!

I'm surprised that while O'Cath, North Laurel and Christian County are getting some votes that neither Mercy or Allen County Scottsville are getting any. Those 5 would be the ones most believe have the best shot at winning state. I see Ashland Paul Blazer is getting some love, but they have a very tough draw. Open with Mercy and IF you get the win, probably face Christian County.

I would love to see Garrard County's girls make a little noise but they have a really tough draw in Allen County-Scottsville to open. A second round matchup (win or lose) with Franklin County or Estill County would seem to be a little more winnable.

As for Garrard's girls, this is their second straight regional title. They play two seniors and start a seventh grader, three eighth graders, and a freshman. Hopefully there are several more trips to Owensboro in the future for them!:thumb:

Garrard did get a tough draw. Allen County-Scottsville is tough and that would be a difficult first game for anyone at state. IMHO, they are 1 of the 5 I think have a legit shot to win the whole thing.

2 straight regional titles is awesome! I think many assumed that with Kosmecki on the mound that Southwestern was a sure thing in the 12th, but Garrard really came through! Hope they have a fun trip to Owensboro! The state tournament is a wonderful accomplishment!
