For those of you who have not had a chance to get out and watch the Adidas It Takes 5ive tournament in Cincinnati I just wanted to let you know about 2 Connor players.

 

Tyler Hodges had 2 really good games. One against Gateway basketball club (St. Louis) in which he must have had 7 or 8 blocks. He also scored 10-12 points and was doing it from inside the paint and from about 15-16 feet. He was able to put the ball on the floor with relative confidence without turning the ball over or putting himself in a compromising position. The only flaw I saw in his game in this particular game was that he did foul out with a few minutes to go in a close game. All though this is not a good thing, I attribute it to the passion he played with in this game. He seemed to have a fire about him. In the second game I saw, it was against Club Ohio and he did much the same thing, but didnt appear to be in foul trouble. I didnt get to see this whole game, but he did have a NICE 2-handed jam off of an open break.

 

The second guy is Jake Flesch. He is going to be a really nice PG for Conner this coming season. His defense is inferior to no one, and he has the ability to guard anyone who is 6'5" and under and flesch is only 5"10" or so. He also is very secure with the basketball. I have only seen him turn the ball over 1 time in two games, and it was on an outlet pass that just overshot his target. Flesch is extremely efficient as a PG and loves to get his teammates involved. I have also seen him in some other tournaments where he has a unique ability to score and adjust his shot in mid-air. The only flaw I saw with him in this tournament was he sometimes hesitates to pull the trigger. He is constantly looking for his teammates. Take that shot young man! You can hit it.

 

Anyways, just thought I'd give the Conner faithful something to look forward too. You have two very nice Junior-to-be players on the way.

Can someone who has a little knowledge about Connor basketball provide the site with a projected line-up for the Connor team next season. I know many things can happen, Im just curious.

 

Will the 3 juniors (Flesch, Hodges & Robinson) get the nod to start? What about liechty. The only sure starter I know is Avery.

 

Stephens will be a guaranteed starter. Assuming Avery is at Conner, he will be the go to guy. Hodges will mroe than likely also start. He led the region in blocked shots and has really come on this summer. I would think that Flesch and Robinson would round out the starting five, but Robinson is returning from an injury and is up in the air.
