Let's get the discussion started about the 12th region Player of the Year. Vote in the poll which school you think the POY will come from. Nominate your POY candidate, with stats and why you think they should be POY, or feel free to support a player that has been nominated.

I think Tanner Perkins from Rockcastle is the best player in the Region this year. He's definately the best pitcher and can really hit it as well. The Rockets are a threat to beat any team in the Region with him on the mound.

I'll get it started with a Boyle Co. Nominee. Garrick Whittle has got it done both as a pitcher and a hitter this season. A Morehead St. signee, his pitching stats are: 6-3 (with a couple of tough no-decisions where he left with a lead), a 2.75 ERA and 86 K's in 56 innings.

At the plate, he is leading the team in most categories, hitting around .450, with 7 home runs, 10 doubles, 2 triples and 37 RBI's. His slugging % is above .800

He has been an all-around player for the Rebels, splitting time in the outfield and first base when not on the mound.

Lincoln Co.

Brandon Weir, can pitch & hit well... But he is only a Junior, so we will see if he gets any consideration.

You could make a case for a few different guys, but none of them are in the same class as Tanner Perkins. Watched him pitch once this spring and he didn't throw a pitch under 88 untill the 5th inning.

Duran Elmore from Danville does have the stats to be considered. Batting .411 with 39 SB's, and two Hr's. 6-4 on the mound with a 1.29 era, 88 k's in 63 innings.
